Mike Schreiner’s Visit Highlights the Anorra Wind Turbine
In July, Borrum Energy Solutions had the opportunity to welcome Mike Schreiner, Leader of the Green Party of Ontario and MPP for Guelph. His visit created a valuable opportunity to discuss renewable energy, local power generation, and the role Canadian-made microgeneration wind systems can play in supporting rural, remote, and off-grid energy needs.
A major focus of the visit was the Anorra wind turbines family of products. The Anorra’s are considered microgeneration. They are designed to produce clean electricity close to where it is used, making it a practical option for farms, cottages, rural homes, northern communities, remote facilities, and off-grid properties. For locations facing high energy costs, limited grid access, or reliance on diesel and propane generators, microgeneration wind energy can provide another option for local power production.
The Anorra’s are designed for dwelling scale energy needs rather than large utility-scale generation. They support applications such as battery charging, water systems, lighting, heating support, and other local electricity uses. This makes them especially useful for properties and communities looking to improve energy independence and reduce reliance on outside energy sources.
The turbines are also designed with Canadian conditions in mind. Its carbon fibre blades help maintain shape through extreme temperature changes, while the black blade design can help absorb heat and create stronger contrast against bright or white skies. The blades also include an ice-minimizing coating to help reduce icing risks in cold and humid environments.
Another important feature is the Anorra’s guyed-wire tilt tower. The tower can be raised and lowered without the need for heavy equipment, helping make installation, inspections, and maintenance more manageable. This is especially important in rural or remote areas where cranes, heavy equipment, or specialized service access may be limited.
