What Makes Our Blades Exceptional
After previously covering the generator in out turbines lets move onto another crucial component, the blades of the turbine. They capture the energy in the wind to turn the generator and generate electricity. This process generates a lot of stress, and the blades must be designed to handle it effectively.
Our blades have several features that not only make them sturdier and more reliable but also make them more efficient.

1) Advanced Materials: The blades are made of carbon fiber reinforced polymer which is not only extremely strong but also extremely light making it an ideal material for wind turbine blades. When compared to other materials like aluminum which isn’t used because it is twice as dense and doesn’t offer the same customizability and fiber glass which is weaker, flimsier and heavier with its only benefit being that fiber glass is cheaper.
2) Reinforced structure: The turbine faces upwind which means the blades are being pushed back towards the tower, to prevent them from hitting the tower they must be stiff. Carbon fiber is already stiff but to further reinforce them the inside of the blades has been filled with expanding foam.
3) Environmental Protection: To protect against humidity and UV damage the blades have been coated with a UV resistant gel and an extra layer of paint.
4) Secure Attachment: The blades are attached to the generator shaft with mechanical bolts that are easily able to handle the forces put on them, making them exceptionally safe.
5) Precision Balancing: Manufacturing limitations make it so the center of mass can’t be perfect which causes slight vibrations. To counter this the blades are balanced, which minimizes these vibrations and increases efficiency.
