Amazon plans for 100% renewable energy by 2025

Amazon has announced their first utility scale renewable energy projects in Rajasthan, India: in: a 210-megawatt project, a 100-megawatt project, and a 110-megawatt project. By the end of 2021 85% of Amazons energy was renewable. They have also announced 23 new solar rooftop projects at their fulfillment centers across 14 cities in India.

In addition, Amazon has announced a global renewable energy portfolio, which includes projects South America, Brazil, and Poland.

Amazon's global renewable energy portfolio will produce 50,000 gigawatt hours of clean energy once it is fully operational, which is equal to the annual electricity consumption of 4.6 million US residences.

As the largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy globally, Amazon now has a total of 379 renewable energy projects across 21 countries, including 154 wind and solar farms and 225 rooftop solar projects, representing 18.5 Gw of renewable energy capacity.

Amazon is setting a great example for other companies globally to adopt similar clean energy resources to meet our net-zero goals.
