BES and DND join forces to design clean energy generation capability for the Arctic

Borrum Energy Solutions is honoured to announce its selection by the Canadian National Defence for the design of a portable 3.4KW microgeneration wind turbine. The objective here is to make use of one or multiple microgeneration wind turbines to generate clean energy in support of various activities anywhere in the Arctic and Sub-Artic regions. The net benefit will be to reduce the need and consumption of diesel and gas to generate electricity.

This project has been awarded to BES after the submitted proposal in response to a call for proposal under the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program.

This award showcases DND’s confidence in BES’s strong engineering competencies in successfully designing and assembling microgeneration wind turbine for the harsh Canadian weather. The design for this project will build upon the concepts and principles of the commercially available wind turbine at BES: The Anorra.
